Singapore Big Four law firm Rajah & Tann has acquired Legal Comet, a local legal technology advisory firm that focuses on e-discovery, through Rajah & Tann Technologies Pte Ltd, a unit of the law firm..

Founded by Michael Lew, LegalComet offers artificial intelligence-driven solutions such as e-discovery, forensic technology and data governance. 

The team joining R&T is said to have more than 40 years of combined consulting and project management experience in legal technology, electronic discovery, managed document review, forensic technology and data governance. LegalComet also claims to have developed proprietary legal technology-related training courses and e-learning content, and also provides blockchain and cloud-enabled solutions.

Lew himself is a legaltech veteran with more than 17 years of experience in technology risk management, forensic technology and e-discovery consultancy. He earlier worked in the technology functions of Big Four firms Deloitte and KPMG.
