Joe Sevack has joined the Hong Kong office of Troutman Sanders as a partner in its securities and corporate governance practice group.

Sevack comes to the firm from Paul Hastings, where he was a partner for nearly four years (2006-present); for six years prior to that he was a partner at Freshfields in Hong Kong.

Sevack says that renewed investor confidence in high-yield debt should see a number of new deals come to market in the next few months.

"Equity and debt issuance activity has rebounded strongly in Asia, and with respect to high-yield bonds in particular, there should be a large number of existing issues that will need to be refinanced in the near term... and Asian issuers appear to remain popular with investors in that sector," Sevack said.

Earlier this month, Troutmans recruited former Stephenson Harwood partner Richard Grams for its Shanghai M&A and business ventures group.
