International firm Latham & Watkins has boosted its technology transactions practices in the UAE with the relocation of corporate lawyers Justin Cornish and Brian Meenagh to Dubai and Abu Dhabi from London.

Cornish is a senior associate at the firm, and his practice covers a full range of technology, intellectual property, media and commercial law matters. He has advised multinational companies on matters involving activities outside the UK, and has spent a significant amount of time acting for clients with interests in South Africa.

Meenagh, who is an associate at Latham & Watkins, focuses primarily on technology, intellectual property and commercial law. His practice includes advising clients on business process and IT transactions.

“The technology and IP ecosystem of the Middle East is developing at a pace that simply requires us to relocate more of our specialist resources to the region. We are excited about being part of the rise of the ‘Silicon Valley of the Middle East’ and the addition of Justin and Brian to our team comes at a great time,” said Villiers Terblanche, office managing partner for the firm’s Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Doha offices.

Latham & Watkins’ global technology and outsourcing practice consists of more than 100 lawyers worldwide, who specialise in technology, outsourcing and communications transactions. ALB
