ATMD Bird & Bird has expanded its corporate/commercial team with the hiring of Marcus Chow, formerly a director at fellow Singapore firm Drew & Napier.

Chow focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and equity and debt capital markets. He also advises on corporate governance and Singapore stock exchange related matters, and is experienced in regional cross border transactions. His arrival comes a few weeks after ATMD hired high-profile IP expert Lorraine Tay from Baker & McKenzie.

“Marcus is a significant addition to the team and I am delighted to welcome him to the firm,” said Susan de Silva, head of ATMD Bird & Bird’s corporate/commercial practice group, in a statement. “He will be playing a key role in developing our corporate practice and strengthening our reputation for providing clients with leading legal expertise in corporate finance matters.”

Chow, who started his legal career with Fried Frank Harris Shriver & Jacobson in New York, has also practiced with White and Case in Singapore. Prior to joining Drew & Napier, he worked for the Singapore stock exchange, where he was in the issuers' regulation department. ALB
