King & Wood Mallesons has added to its real estate, construction and environment practice with the appointment of Sonya Harris.

Harris joins King & Wood Mallesons from Mirvac Group where she was the general counsel and company secretary, managing the provision of all legal advice to the Mirvac Group.  She led the Mirvac legal team on many of Mirvac’s key transactions, such as the acquisition of the A$1.2 billion Westpac Office Trust, the redevelopment of major industrial project Hoxton Park, the acquisition of Harold Park in NSW and the redevelopment of the Old Treasury buildings in Perth, WA.

Prior to her position at Mirvac, Harris was deputy general counsel at Multiplex (now Brookfield). Previous to this she was a partner at Minter Ellison in the Sydney construction practice from 1999, working on major construction and infrastructure projects.
