Latham & Watkins has strengthened its Southeast Asia practice by relocating corporate partners Rod Brown and Luke Grubb from London to Singapore. Grubb’s arrival marks the formal launch of the firm’s outsourcing and IP practice in the city-state.

Brown, whose practice focuses on cross border public and private M&As and joint ventures, has experience in acquisitions and dispositions across sectors including energy, pharmaceutical, real estate, financial services, leisure, consumer products, and technology. His arrival bolsters Latham & Watkins’ M&A practice in Singapore, which currently includes 20 lawyers.

Grubb, who has experience in commercial technology and IP, is an expert on outsourcing transactions, advising clients on technology procurement, systems development, licensing arrangements, and technology joint ventures. He has advised clients in sectors including financial institutions, telecommunications, entertainment, media, retail, manufacturing, and ecommerce clients.

“We are delighted to announce the arrival of Rod and Luke in the region,” said Stephen McWilliams, office managing partner of Latham & Watkins in Singapore, in a statement. “Rod’s broad transactional expertise adds further depth to our market-leading M&A and private equity capabilities in Southeast Asia, while Luke’s wealth of experience advising on complex commercial technology and outsourcing transactions strengthens our offering to clients across the region.”

The arrival of Grubb and Brown takes the total number of partners in Latham & Watkins’ Singapore office to 11.
