Philippines law firm SyCip Salazar Hernandez & Gatmaitan has named Ricardo Ma. P.G. Ongkiko as the new head of its litigation practice. Ongkiko replaces Nelson T. Antolin, who stepped down from the partnership in May.

Ongkiko, who joined SyCip in 1988, was made a partner in 1997. His practice areas include international and domestic arbitration, construction arbitration, mediation, civil and commercial litigation, corporation law, and contract law.

With experience in international and domestic arbitration dealing with commercial and construction disputes, Ongkiko has handled a range of cases involving contract disputes, corporate restructuring, debt recovery, infrastructure and engineering disputes, intra-corporate controversies, insurance cases, and tort.

Headquartered in Makati, SyCip is the largest law firm in the Philippines. It has branch offices in Cebu, Davao, and the Subic Bay Freeport.
