Norton Rose has increased its corporate strength in Thailand with the hire of partner Andrew Lucas from Baker & McKenzie in Beijing.

Lucas, who will join Norton Rose’s Bangkok office, has worked on corporate, finance and restructuring matters throughout Europe and Asia, including international public and private company M&A and financings, outbound investments, restructurings and reorganisations, joint ventures and equity capital market transactions. 

“Andrew's appointment comes at an exciting time for us in Bangkok as activity in mergers and acquisitions continue to build,” said Jeff Smith, head of Southeast Asia at Norton Rose, in a statement. “With his skill, expertise, and many years of transactional experience, Andrew will provide a valuable resource in Bangkok for clients seeking to expand abroad, and make an impact at a global level.”

Lucas becomes the second partner in the Bangkok office, joining Somboon Kitiyansub, a corporate partner specialising in M&A and banking and finance.
