Sparke Helmore Lawyers has promoted four staff to the firm’s partnership. The firm has promoted Mark Doepel, Roland Hassall, Nicholas Studdert and Maxine Tills.

Doepel and Studdert are based in the Sydney office and are both part of the insurance group. Doepel has extensive experience in professional indemnity litigation, directors and officers liability, and reinsurance. He has practised in these areas of law for more than 17 years, both in London and in Sydney. Studdert has been with the firm since 2007 and advises insurers, employers and their intermediaries on issues arising from claims in the statutory classes of insurance.

Hassall is also based in the Sydney office and has been with the firm since 1992. He has extensive expertise in all areas concerning employment law; particularly termination, restraint and discrimination/harassment issues. He has worked in complementary areas of law, including occupational health and safety and insurance.

Tills has more than 18 years’ experience in these areas of law is based in the Brisbane insurance group. She practises in dispute resolution and specialises in professional indemnity and construction litigation. Tills also has experience in directors’ and officers’ liability insurance and advises insurers on policy coverage issues.

The firm now has a national partnership of 57.
