The Singapore office of Jones Day has hired Darren Murphy as a partner in its energy practice, and Matthew Skinner as a partner in its disputes practice. Both join from Allens.
With almost 20 years of work experience in Australia, Singapore and the U.S., Murphy has advised on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and development of projects throughout Asia, including in Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, China, Mongolia, Thailand, PNG and Cambodia.
Also possessing about 20 years of experience is Skinner, who has extensive experience in court and arbitration tribunals (SIAC, LMAA, ICC and CAS), in addition to mediation and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. His broad contentious practice has particular emphasis on international arbitration, contractual disputes and regulatory investigations. He was the Southeast Asia dispute resolution head at Allens before making the move to Jones Day.

The two new hires take the size of the Singapore office to 25 fee-earners, and the firm expects to increase that to 27 before the end of the year.
