Minter  Ellison has recruited former King & Wood Mallesons partner James Mok, who has joined the firm’s finance practice as a partner, based in Sydney.

Mok had been a partner at King & Wood Mallesons since 2006 and specialises in structured and asset finance, particularly aircraft leasing and financing. He also has extensive experience in aviation law. "We have worked across the table from James on a number of transactions,” said head of the Minter Ellison finance division, Paul Paxton. “As he has a particular interest in the Asian market, he also strengthens our offering to clients regionally.”

Mok also lectures in postgraduate finance law at the University of New South Wales, and has authored articles for the Journal of Banking and Financial Law Practice.
