Corrs adds two partners in Perth | Asian Legal Business

Corrs Chambers Westgarth has strengthened its presence in Perth with the appointment of two new partners.

Simon Billing has joined Corrs from DLA Piper where he was also a partner in the workplace relations practice. He has significant experience in workplace relations, occupational health and safety, and employment in the energy, resources, engineering, construction and associated industries.

Meanwhile corporate advisory senior associate Tighe Whelan will join the partnership through internal promotion on January 1, 2013. He has been with Corrs since 2006 and is part of the firm’s specialist India and China Business Group. He has worked in the energy and resources sector, particularly in hard rock mining joint ventures, product off-take, marketing and sales arrangements. He has advised a number of Corrs’ international clients on their mining joint venture investments and Fortescue Metals Group in relation to Pilbara iron ore projects.

Corrs has appointed 10 new partners this year: Billing is the sixth lateral hire and Whelan is the fourth internal appointment.
