Dechert has appointed corporate expert John Podgore as a partner at its Dubai office as part of a round of promotions that saw 12 lawyers elected to the firm’s partnership worldwide.

Podgore specialises in corporate transactions, with a focus on energy and project finance-related matters in the Middle East, Africa, Russia and Central Asia. He is also familiar with political risk issues related to projects in emerging markets.

The firm’s other newly-promoted partners work in a range of practice areas including corporate, finance, real estate, intellectual property, litigation, and dispute resolution.

“The diversity of practice areas and locations represented by this partnership class reflects our dedication to serving clients across an expanding global network,” said Dechert CEO, Daniel O’Donnell, in a statement.
