Western Australian law firm, Jackson McDonald, has commenced 2013 with the appointment of a new partner and a special counsel. Both appointments are as a result of internal promotion.

New banking and finance partner Hilary Hunt joined the firm as a special counsel in 2012 and already heads up the firm’s banking and finance team. She specialises in all aspects of corporate financing from advising on structuring to negotiation of documentation and completion. During her time in Perth Hunt has developed niche expertise in personal property securities legislation, the newly proposed mining rehabilitation fund and in shipping law. Her practice draws upon significant overseas experience, having worked as a senior lawyer in the international finance department at Linklaters in London prior to returning to Buddle Findlay in New Zealand.

New special counsel Renae Harding has been a member of the firm’s workplace relations and occupational safety and health teams since 2007. She has significant experience in advising employers on employment relations, industrial relations, discrimination and safety matters.  She also regularly represents employers during investigations by authorities such as WorkSafe, Resources Safety and the Fair Work Ombudsman and in guiding in-house investigations for an array of Jackson McDonald’s major clients. Prior to Jackson McDonald she worked at Sparke Helmore.
