Indian law firm K Law has hired Anisha Patnaik as a partner in Mumbai, marking the firm’s first lateral hire at partner level.

Patnaik was most recently a director at First Light Accelerator, where she worked on investments in early stage companies engaged in providing modern energy access to the underserved. Her areas of practice include private equity and venture capital investments, acquisitions and joint ventures, and general corporate commercial advisory.

“We are very excited about having Anisha come on board,” said Naina Krishna Murthy, K Law’s managing partner, in a statement. “In addition to her legal acumen and her vast experience, I believe that Anisha is the right fit for our firm in terms of sensibility and work ethics.”

Patnaik was the previously India legal counsel for Acumen Fund, a non-profit global venture fund, and associate partner at law firm Thakker & Thakker.
