White & Case has strengthened its M&A practice in Japan with the hire of M&A lawyer Mangyo Kinoshita, most recently the head of O’Melveny & Myers’s corporate practice in Tokyo.
Kinoshita is experienced in matters concerning cross-border and domestic M&As, joint ventures, strategic alliances, private equity and venture capital. He also handles entertainment, licensing and general corporate matters in Japan. He has previously practised in New York where he represented U.S. and Japanese clients in cross-border M&As, finance transactions and securities offerings.
“Mangyo has been working closely with clients, both in Japan and overseas, on Japan-related M&A, with a particular focus on deals inbound to Japan,” Brian Strawn, executive partner of White & Case’s Tokyo office, said in a statement. “His experience advising U.S. and foreign multinational companies on M&A matters means that Mangyo will be an asset to our clients. This is a natural move for the firm and Mangyo.”
Kinoshita will be resident in Japan, but intends to spend significant time at White & Case’s overseas offices to support investments into or out of the country.
