Taylor Wessing has welcomed back Habib Ullah, who spent the first 10 years of his career with the firm in London, as head of banking at its Dubai office. The firm has also appointed Mark Fraser as its Dubai managing partner.

After leaving Taylor Wessing at the end of his initial stint, Habib Ullah joined Nabarro as a partner and helped establish its Islamic finance practice. At Taylor Wessing, he will spearhead the Middle East office’s finance practice, offering both conventional and Islamic finance expertise.

“Habib's appointment will provide a boost to the increasingly international, institutional client base of Taylor Wessing's wider finance practice,” said Mark Fraser, managing partner of Taylor Wessing in the Middle East, in a statement. “We are looking forward to Habib joining and bringing with him his experience, contacts and undoubtedly a leading finance practice."

Habib Ullah’s clients include international and local banks and other financial institutions based both in Europe and the Middle East. He has represented German banks as well as The Investment Dar and Aston Martin.

New Dubai MP for Taylor Wessing

Taylor Wessing has appointed Mark Fraser as its Dubai managing partner.  Fraser takes over from Christopher Dixon, who will become senior partner.

Fraser has 28 years of experience working in construction and dispute resolution and has experience in contentious and non-contentious construction and engineering law, arbitration and insurance law in the Middle East, UK and Hong Kong.

"I congratulate Mark on his appointment and am delighted to welcome him into the role. We have a very strong management team in place and I am confident Mark's skillset and knowledge of the wider firm will play a key role in achieving our ambitions of being the premier global law firm in the region," said Dixon in a statement.
