Baker Botts has named senior partner John Lonsberg as the partner-in-charge of its Middle East offices. Lonsberg will take over from Bob Jordan, who will return to Dallas after a transition period.
Jordan was instrumental in helping bring Lonsberg and his team of lawyers over to Baker Botts from Norton Rose Fulbright to the firm in 2013. Lonsberg had previously established Fulbright & Jaworski's presence in the Middle East when he joined Fulbright in 2005 and served as the partner-in-charge of its Middle East practice.
"I am confident John Lonsberg will continue building on the foundation that Bob (and David Emmons before him) has built in the Middle East," said Baker Botts Managing Partner Andrew Baker in a statement. "John's wealth of experience in the region - he has been resident in the area since 1980 - will provide our clients key insights into how best to manage the challenges they face each day."
Earlier this year, Baker Botts signed an alliance agreement with the International Legal Group in Kuwait. It currently has offices in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Riyadh.
