K&L Gates has hired investment management and financial services regulatory specialist Greg Heaton as a partner in Hong Kong.
Previously with Deacons, Heaton advises investment managers, institutional trustees and custodians on fund formation, licensing, regulatory compliance and securities law matters.
He has also worked with the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, as well as the Australian Securities and Investments Commission.
Heaton is the fourth partner to join K&L Gates’ Asia offices in 2014. So far this month, the firm has hired commercial disputes partner Takahiro Hoshino and finance and real estate partner Takahiro Tsumagari in Tokyo, as well as M&A partner Siew Kam Boon in Singapore and Shanghai.
