Minter Ellison has moved quickly to fill the vacancy at its Shanghai office with the appointment of Yi Yi Wu as chief representative. Wu rejoins Minters from Shanghai Rolmax after leaving the firm in 2006.

The vacancy at Minters’ Shanghai office was created by the departure of Wan Li to DLA Piper earlier this week and the firm will be pleased to maintain a presence in the commercial hub. Minter Ellison opened the doors to its Shanghai office in 1999 and this year will open an office in Beijing. Through its Shanghai office, Minter Ellison acted as the principal legal advisers to the consortium that won the A$25bn contract to supply LNG from Australia's North West Shelf to the Guangdong Terminal in southern China – Australia's largest ever single export deal.

Wu joined Minter Ellison's Melbourne office in 2001 before returning to Shanghai in 2002 and working in the Shanghai office for four years. She has worked for a number of domestic and international law firms in China and Australia and has acted for Chinese state-owned and private companies on their overseas investment projects.
