Blake Dawson partner David Williamson must have made an impression on client BHP Billiton because the mining giant has just announced his appointment as chief legal counsel.

 

Williamson has worked closely with BHP Billiton in the past. He was the lead advisor on the company’s bid for Rio Tinto and also advised on its US$100bn iron ore production joint venture with Rio Tinto.

 

During his time with Blake Dawson, Williamson held a number of leadership positions, including practice leader of corporate, practice head for M&A, board member and client relationship partner for BHP Billiton.
