Finance, derivatives and insolvency specialist Chris Forrest has returned to New Zealand and Minter Ellison Rudd Watts after 14 years in the UK.

Forrest has 25 years’ experience providing advice in all aspects of banking & finance law and has a strong background in cross-border transactions. During his international career he has worked at Simmons & Simmons, Norton Rose and as head of legal for the corporate banking division of The National Bank of New Zealand Limited (ANZ). He was most recently practicing as head of finance at the Practical Law Company, London, a provider of legal know-how, transactional analysis and market intelligence for lawyers. Forrest also spent six years as a partner in the London office of McDermott Will & Emery.

His practice focuses primarily on representing banks and borrowers in the documentation and negotiation of finance transactions, structured finance transactions, derivatives, debt restructurings, security restructurings, and trade finance transactions.
Forrest is based in the firm’s Auckland office.
