Norton Rose Australia partner Michael Joyce has moved to the firm’s Tokyo office. Joyce, who joins the 15-lawyer Tokyo team from Brisbane, has considerable experience advising the energy, resources and infrastructure sectors; in particular oil & gas, LNG, power and mining, on M&A, joint ventures and complex commercial transactions.

As well as a career spanning over 22 years Joyce brings nearly 20 years' experience advising Japanese clients to the practice.

Key sectors the team advises in Japan include energy and infrastructure, transport, technology and telecommunications.  The move will enable Norton Rose Japan to capitalise on local investors’ continued interest in overseas opportunities in these sectors and energy, resources and infrastructure in particular.

Chris Viner, corporate and project finance partner and head of the Tokyo office commented that Joyce’s arrival reaffirms Norton Rose’s continued expansion plans.

Norton Rose Tokyo lawyers practice as foreign lawyers, or Gaikokuho Jimu Bengoshi.  They are entitled to advise corporations, banks, government organisations, insurance providers and other clients on asset finance, banking, corporate finance and project finance matters.
