Norwegian firm Wikborg Rein’s former global managing partner, Per M. Ristvedt, has arrived in Singapore last night in preparation for his new role as head of the firm’s Singapore office, a role that commences 1 Aug 2011.

Ristvedt spent eight years leading the firm globally, charting its overseas expansion from 2003 to 2011.  Under Ristvedt’s watch the firm has witnessed revenue and headcount double – from US$59.5m (320 million NOK) and 150 employees, to revenues of US$121.7m (655 million NOK) and over 300 employees. In addition to their offices in Bergen and Oslo, the firm now also has offices in London, Kobe, Shanghai and Singapore.

Prior to his appointment as the global head of the Norwegian big four firm, Ristvedt has spent a significant amount of time in Asia, heading the firm’s Kobe office for three years. His time in Japan also included an appointment to be the Norwegian Counsel General for Kobe/Osaka.

Ristvedt joined Wikborg Rein in 1991and has been a partner since 2000. His main field of practice is litigation and dispute resolution, corporate finance and matters relating to maritime law and offshore.ALB
