The Singapore International Arbitration Centre has further reached out to Chinese and Indian markets with its latest appointments to the board – Nishith Desai, founder and managing partner of Nishith Desai Associates, as well as Ariel Ye, head of cross-border dispute resolution at King & Wood.

Desai’s practice encompasses an extensive range of tax, corporate and technology matters with a strong emphasis on private equity and venture capital funds. He has developed expertise in the area of litigation and dispute resolution with a strong focus on complex cross-border disputes. Desai found Nishith Desai Associates, a law firm with offices in Mumbai, Silicon Valley, Bangalore, Singapore and Basel.

Ye is an arbitrator on the SIAC and the CIETAC panels and has extensive experience handling arbitration cases before CIETAC, HKIAC, ICC and other international arbitration institutions. She is a seasoned litigator with more than 20 years of experience. Currently disputes head of China’s third largest (as well as the Asia-Pacific region’s third largest) firm King & Wood (as ranked in ALB’s 50 largest firms 2011), Ye is a recognized expert on PRC-related dispute resolution in the Asia-Pacific region.

Ye joined King & Wood in 2004 as a partner. Prior to that, she worked for Clifford Chance as a consultant and was previously with China Global Law Office and Beijing C & M Law Firm.ALB
