U.S. firm Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld has hired Norton Rose partner Oli Charlesworth as its latest partner addition to its finance practice in Abu Dhabi.

Charlesworth specialises in project finance, general banking and Islamic banking. His experience spans advising sponsors and lenders in relations to Islamic, conventional and multi-sourced project financings across the Gulf, Africa and the Southeast Asia region. Having been based in the Gulf for the past six years, he has expertise acting on project sectors including power, water, infrastructure, metals, petrochemicals and gas.

“Oli brings a huge range of finance experience to our expanding office,” said Natasha Kohne, partner-in-charge in Akin Gump’s Abu Dhabi office.
