Ambitious Vietnamese law firm Vilaf recently strengthened its growing legal practice by promoting a senior associate to partner, apart from two other recent additions.

Bui Ngoc Anh, who has been leading teams in a number of significant corporate and M&A transactions for local and international clients, was promoted from senior associate to partner in early October, becoming the firm’s tenth partner. Bui’s practice also encompasses general corporate and specialist structuring advice, including matters relating to the implementation of Vietnam’s accession to the WTO.

Meanwhile, Nguyen Anh Hao returned to the firm as senior associate after completing his LLM in the U.S., and Tina LeDinh joined the firm from PWC Vietnam. While Nguyen has worked in various cross-border transactions in wide ranging issues such as anti-dumping, acquisitions, project financing and WTO matters, LeDinh, who was legal manager at PWC, has expertise in finance and banking, among other areas.

“Despite the decline in foreign direct investment into Vietnam, the legal practice keeps growing strongly in terms of sophisticated corporate, financing and restructuring transactions,” said Tran Anh Duc, country managing partner at Vilaf. “The firm is growing in that trend and looking forward to meeting the higher demand and expectation of international clients in each specialized area.” ALB
