Pan-Southeast Asian firm DFDL Mekong has entered Indonesia following a tie-up with local firm MX Law, as it seeks to capitalize on the growing potential of the Indonesian market.

DFDL’s practice, which was green-lit by the firm’s board of directors on Oct. 10, will be managed by William D. Greenlee, Jr. The team, which is said to have a great deal of experience in Indonesian matters and clients, includes David Doran, Martin Desautels, Edwin Vanderbruggen, Rashed Idrees, Marcus Collins, Jean Loi, David Vance, Roy Lee, Shahwar Nizam and Walter Heiser. Initially, DFDL will focus on energy and mining projects, M&A/FDI transactions, tax structuring and real estate developments in Indonesia.

MX Law is a boutique law firm managed by lawyers D. Larasati and Fernando Manullang. The association is expected to culminate in the opening of an office in Jakarta in early 2012.

“This is another move forward in our international strategy to seamlessly serve our international clients’ outbound and inbound matters from and in our various offices in Asia,” a statement from the firm said. ALB
