International law firm Allen & Overy has promoted Ian Bevan to counsel in Abu Dhabi as part of a series of 33 promotions globally.
The role of counsel is considered a high-status position for senior lawyers, the company said in a statement. Bevan formerly held the position of senior associate in the firm’s real estate practice.
Globally Allen & Overy has promoted 33 lawyers to counsel or practice support lawyer (PSL) counsel in the six practice groups of banking, corporate, international capital markets, litigation, real estate and tax. The promotions spanned 15 offices globally and will take effect on May 1.
"Once again the range of countries and practice areas from which these promotions come reflects the diversity of our global network and expertise. This remains a real strength for us,” said Managing partner Wim Dejonghe.
This latest round promotions comes just one month after the firm announced 23 promotions to partner globally. ALB
