Southeast Asian legal and tax services firm VDB Loi has expanded into Indonesia by teaming up with local law firm Larasati & Manullang. The new entity will operate in Indonesia as Larasati & Manullang – In association with VDB Loi.
Larasati & Manullang is named after its two partners, D. Larasati and Fernando Manullang, who have over 25 years of experience in assisting international and Indonesian clients in corporate, M&A and infrastructure matters.
“We recognised a high level of compatibility between our firms, and shared the same values and work culture,” said Jean Loi, managing partner of VDB Loi, in a statement. “Our strategy will be to make Indonesia a priority for integrated legal and tax advisory services, particularly in terms of infrastructure and energy projects, private equity and M&A. Based on the demand of our clients there, we expect Indonesia to become our largest tax practice in the region.”
VDB Loi currently has more than 50 local and international consultants, and has recently hired partner Chris Muessel from Rajah & Tann to head its legal practice in the region.
