Freehills has signed a new agreement to take up the top three floors of a new office tower to be constructed at 480 Queen Street in Brisbane. The agreement will see Freehills shift to the new premises in 2015 after 18 years based at Brisbane's Central Plaza One.

Freehills acting Brisbane office head Kerry Heilbronn said the Brisbane office was growing very rapidly: "On the back of very strong business growth the number of Brisbane based staff has increased by more than 30% to 225 people in the last 12 months," he said. 'The move to 480 Queen Street will give us continued space to expand and provide a cutting edge environment for our clients and people."

Freehills CEO Gavin Bell said the firm had been considering its options in Brisbane for some time, partly as a result of the strong growth experienced there. "Our Brisbane office has seen significant growth across all practice areas and has been bursting at the seams for some time," he said.
Freehills has recorded strong growth nationwide and according to the ALB30 survey, to be published later this month, the firm grew revenues by 11% in FY2012.
