J. Sagar Associates (JSA) has hired Nitin Banerjee, most recently an in-house lawyer with UK oil and gas producer BG Group, as a retained partner.

Banerjee, who in his last role was head of legal for BG’s operations in Tanzania, is a projects lawyer with significant energy, infrastructure, and corporate commercial experience. With experience in transactions in several countries, his expertise includes projects, M&A, and disposals, including upstream, midstream (LNG) and downstream work.

“As a firm, we continue to build a sharing, merit-based, empowering, and nurturing institution,” said Jyoti Sagar, JSA’s founder partner, in a statement. “Nitin is thus a valuable addition at JSA, and we warmly welcome him to the JSA family.”

Prior to joining BG, Banerjee was a senior associate at Trilegal, where he focused on oil &and gas, M&A, telecoms, general corporate, and transaction support.
