Offshore law firm Walkers has expanded its Singapore office with the relocation of corporate partner Thomas Granger from Hong Kong.
Granger, who has more than 10 years of experience in corporate work, with an emphasis on investment funds and private equity, joined the Hong Kong office of Walkers in July 2005, and became a partner in the firm’s Global Investment Funds Group in July 2010. He has experience with Indonesian PE and corporate transactions.
Additionally, with knowledge of the Australian and Japanese hedge funds and the PE market in particular, Granger has advised clients on public and private offerings in Australia and Japan. He worked for Minter Ellison between 2000 and 2005.
“Today Walkers is the largest offshore firm in Singapore servicing a growing base of clients and financial institutions in Southeast Asia and India, showing our substantial commitment to the region,” said John Rogers, managing partner of Walkers’ Singapore Office, in a statement. “Tom, with his particular expertise in hedge funds and private equity in Southeast Asia, will be a valuable asset, augmenting the offering from our current team.”
Walkers, which opened in Singapore in 2009, specialises in providing BVI and Cayman Islands legal advice in relation to debt related transactions including general banking, debt capital markets, structured finance, asset and project finance, acquisition finance and securitisation.
