Watson, Farley & Williams has set up a German desk in its Bangkok office with the hire of partner Marcus Nothhelfer from Ashurst in Munich.

Nothhelfer, a Germany-qualified copyright and media lawyer, was head of Ashurst’s German IP/Commercial practice group. He moves to Bangkok to focus on the German business community in the region, and will also develop links with Asian investors who are interested in Europe.

“The addition of Marcus to our Bangkok office will enhance our already very strong reputation in this vibrant market, and add a wholly new dimension to our offering to the international business community in Thailand,” said Steven Burkill, partner and head of WFW Bangkok, in a statement.
