Herbert Smith Freehills employment partner Kate Jenkins has been named as Victoria’s new Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commissioner by the Victorian Attorney General.

Jenkins, who will leave the partnership in September to take up the position, has over 20 years of experience working professionally in the area and as a diversity activist, both within the firm and in the broader community.

This includes representing and advising corporate, public sector, charitable and individual clients on discrimination matters as well as a long standing involvement in the community with groups such as Berry Street Victoria.
