Herbert Smith Freehills has made two senior lateral hires in its corporate and finance practices.

David Ryan has joined the firm’s corporate team in Sydney and David Lyons has joined the finance team in Brisbane.  

Ryan joins from Baker & McKenzie where he was a partner and global head of mining and metals. He will work with HSF’s energy and resources clients on M&A and general corporate activity.

Lyons joins the team from Norton Rose Fulbright where he was a partner in the firm’s finance practice. He has extensive experience in advising financial services clients on a broad range of transactional and other issues and is a board member of a number of Asian business councils and associations.
