This week is the first week of the King & Wood Mallesons combination with SJ Berwin, with the firm also taking the opportunity to announce a new global structure.

Details of three key pillars of the firm's global governance structure were unveiled: the International Management Committee, an Executive Committee and global practice area coordinators.

The International Management Committee is the overall governing body of King & Wood Mallesons and is responsible for strategy, integration, governance and other major decisions. The committee, which contains even representation across the legacy firms, is as follows (legacy firm in brackets): Wang Junfeng (K&W), Stuart Fuller (MSJ), Wang Ling (K&W), Wang Rongkang (K&W), Zhang Yi (K&W), Stephen Minns (MSJ), Sue Kench (MSJ), David Friedlander (MSJ), Stephen Kon (SJB), Rob Day (SJB), Maxence Bloch (SJB) and Stefan Krueger (SJB).

Meanwhile, the Executive Committee is responsible for operational decisions regarding the King & Wood Mallesons network and integration of the member firms as well as for making recommendations to the International Management Committee. The Executive Committee is headed by global managing partner Stuart Fuller (MSJ); other members are Sue Kench (MSJ), Wang Ling (K&W), Rupert Li (K&W) and Rob Day (SJB).

Global practice coordinators have been appointed for the larger teams. The global practice coordinators are responsible for coordinating business plans into a global strategy for their practice team.
