Jones Day has expanded its Singapore practice by hiring private equity partner Mae Shan Chong from White & Case.

Chong specialises in cross-border M&A, and corporate buyouts and reorganizations. She has advised private equity and corporate clients, investment banks, and hedge funds on deals in China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and Myanmar.

“Mae’s experience in emerging markets in South and Southeast Asia, and more broadly throughout Asia, will be of great value for our clients involved in transactions throughout the region,” said Chuck Hardin, co-chair of Jones Day’s private equity practice, in a statement.

Chong’s hire means Jones Day now has 13 partners at its Singapore office.
