Rajah & Tann has advised Indonesian protein-food producer Japfa on its $159 million listing on the Singapore stock exchange on Aug. 15, while Clifford Chance acted for joint global coordinators Credit Suisse (Singapore), DBS and Rabobank International.

The offering saw 248 million Japfa shares priced at $0.64 each. The company said it plans to use the funds for investment into China and other emerging markets.

Rajah & Tann Singapore was led by capital markets partner Evelyn Wee, and M&A partner Teo Yi Jing. Rajah & Tann NK Legal Myanmar, and Rajah & Tann's associated firm in Indonesia, Assegah Hamzah & Partners, acted as Myanmar and Indonesia counsel respectively.

The team from Clifford Chance that advised the banks on U.S. and Singapore law was led by Singapore-based capital markets partners Johannes Juette and Raymond Tong.

Japfa is Indonesia’s second-largest agricultural company and also operates in China, Vietnam, India, and Myanmar. It is involved in the production of milk, poultry, beef, pork, and seafood.
