Singapore law firm Joseph Tan Jude Benny (JTJB) has officially opened its Myanmar office, which will focus on inward investment, advisory, and corporate work.
Corporate lawyer Su Su Myat, who was formerly with the Myanmar Investment Commission, will be managing director of JTJB Myanmar.
Myat will be joined by U Myat Toe, a retired judge of Myanmar’s High Court, and U Htay Chun, former deputy director of the Myanmar Investment Commission.
“With the opening up of Myanmar, there was a massive influx of foreign business and this created a need in Myanmar for legal services at an international level. Our Myanmar office is extremely busy and continues to grow with two new hires in the past two months - Daw Hla Hla Khine, who specialises in telecommunications, and a junior associate,” said Murali Pany, JTJB’s managing partner and director of JTJB Myanmar.
