Patent litigator Johnny Chiu has left Morrison & Foerster to join Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft’s patent litigation team in Washington, D.C. and Hong Kong.

Chiu represents technology companies in China and Taiwan in intellectual property litigation matters before the International Trade Commission (ITC) and in U.S. federal and state courts.

Chiu joins from Morrison & Forester, where he was a partner in the firm’s Washington, D.C. office.

Based out of Cadwalader’s Washington, D.C. and Hong Kong offices, Chiu will work alongside the firm’s ITC patent litigation practice chair Alexander Hadjis and IP practice head Christopher Hughes.

“Johnny brings a unique combination of U.S. litigation skills and trusted counselor abroad. He will be instrumental in expanding the firm’s Patent Litigation practice, whether in district court or in the ITC,” Hughes said in a statement.
