Abdullah Chan & Co has hired Datin Shelina Razaly Wahi as a partner in its corporate practice in Kuala Lumpur from AirAsia X Bhd, where she was a legal director.

Datin Shelina joined AirAsia X as a legal and HR director in 2007, before moving into a legal and regulatory role at the end of 2010. In that role, her focus was on aircraft leasing and financing, engines and avionics as well as regulatory matters. She was involved in the company’s July 2013 IPO.

Prior to that role, she spent six years as an in-house counsel for Shell Malaysia, where she set up the company’s In-house Litigation Management Programme, and was also responsible for managing all major litigation matters.

“Shelina’s specialist experience in aviation will contribute to strengthen the firm in a very client-oriented approach, and will further contribute to our development internationally,” said Dato Muthanna Abdullah, partner at Abdullah Chan & Co, in a statement.

Abdullah Chan & Co currently has a tie-up with French law firm Cotty Vivant Marchisio & Lauzeral (CVML).
