Ropes & Gray has bolstered its real estate investments and transactions practice with the addition of Eduard Sheremeta as a partner in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Previously a partner at DLA Piper, Sheremeta has about 15 years of experience in real estate law in Asia, and has practised in Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong.

Sheremeta advises corporates and financial institutions on real estate transactions including acquisitions and dispositions, private equity and institutional investments, leasing and sale-leasebacks, as well as restructurings and asset and property management.

He also advises funds on real estate-related capital markets transactions and represents real estate and opportunity funds and asset managers on commercial and residential property investments.

“[Sheremeta] brings with him an exceptional depth of experience in high-profile real estate, finance and private equity matters, and his arrival enhances our ability to serve clients across Asia and complements our expanding real estate practice around the world,” said David Djaha, global head of Ropes & Gray’s real estate investments and transactions practice, in a statement.
