Ernst & Young has added 55-lawyer South Korean firm Apex Legal to its legal network, as it looks to expand its footprint across the Asia-Pacific network.

According to a report in The Australian, the planned 200-strong network of lawyers will span key commercial centres throughout the Asia-Pacific region, and the next step is likely to be in Hong Kong. Talks are also due to start with two small firms in Malaysia.

Last year, EY added Shanghai-based law firm Chen & Co and Singapore law firm PK Wong & Associates to its network. It also has legal services capability in Vietnam, as well as member law firms in India and Japan.
