Al Tamimi & Company has opened its second Saudi Arabia office in Jeddah, the country’s second-largest city after the capital Riyadh.

The new office is headed by Sumit Soni, who previously spent seven years with White & Case, Latham & Watkins and Baker Botts in Riyadh. Soni handles general corporate commercial matters, including M&A and joint ventures, advising clients on a wide range of Islamic finance and conventional lending matters.

“Our Jeddah office includes Saudi, Middle Eastern and Western lawyers, and we will be offering full service support to clients on the ground,” said Husam Hourani, managing partner of Al Tamimi, in a statement. “The office will also be supported by Al Tamimi’s wider network around the region. The Jeddah office allows us to continue to build upon a number of our core regional strengths, including: construction, transport, employment, healthcare, hospitality, and dispute resolution.”

In the past 18 months, Al Tamimi has opened offices in Oman, Bahrain and Egypt. With 16 offices located in nine countries across the region, it is the Middle East’s largest law firm.
