Shanghai law firm Llinks Law Offices has opened an office in Hong Kong, its first outside Mainland China. Llinks has another office in Beijing.

With three partners, the new office will primarily focus on three areas, namely M&A, capital markets and asset management, partner Lv Hong told ALB in an interview. Llinks’ Hong Kong associated firm is Vivien Teu & Co.

Llinks’ is one of a number of mainland firms that has opened offices in Hong Kong to tap into the growing trend of cross-boundary investment. Late last year, Han Kun Law Offices also established its Hong Kong office.

“With establishment of Hong Kong Shanghai Stock Connect and the government’s aim to internationalize RMB, the cross-board investment and asset management become really hot. We move our office to Hong Kong to get closer to our clients and better diversify our services,” Lv said.
