Hong Kong corporate and securities law boutique Kwok Yih & Chan (KYC) has brought former corporate finance and capital markets specialist Cecil Kwong on board as a partner.

Kwong advises both local and multinational corporations and financial institutions on M&A, private equity, corporate finance and capital markets transactions. He also specialises in regulatory and compliance matters in Hong Kong.

Kwong joins KYC from Dentons, where he was a counsel in the firm’s Hong Kong office.

KYC was formed in October 2014 by former Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy partner Dieter Yih and ex-King & Wood Mallesons partners Larry Kwok and Conrad Chan.

The firm advises on all facets of non-contentious corporate and securities law, ranging from M&A, corporate finance and capital markets work, to China-related investment and compliance and regulatory matters.

With the addition of Kwong, the firm now has about 15 fee-earners, including five partners.
