Cavenagh Law, the Singapore Formal Law Alliance (FLA) firm of Clifford Chance, has hired Carol Anne Tan as the head of its real estate practice for Southeast Asia.

Tan, who was previously a partner with WongPartnership, has more than 20 years of experience on real estate-related transactions, including property divestments, acquisition financing, joint ventures, real estate funds and commercial work.

"We are delighted to welcome Carol, one of the top real estate lawyers in Singapore," said Cavenagh Law's managing partner, Harpreet Singh Nehal SC, in a statement. “Singapore and South East Asia have an increasing number of complex deals involving the real estate sector and we look forward to supporting Carol as she grows the firm's real estate practice for the region.”

Recent transactions by Tan include acting for the buyer on the acquisition of Singapore’s AXA Tower from asset management firm BlackRock for approximately S$1.17 billion, and the Straits Trading Company Limited on the S$450 million sale of Straits Trading Building to Sun Venture Group.
