Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton has hired capital markets partner Shuang Zhao in Hong Kong.

Previously a partner at Shearman & Sterling, Zhao advises Chinese companies and financial institutions on a range of equity and debt offerings in the U.S. and Hong Kong, as well as on corporate governance and regulatory matters. 

Before joining Shearman & Sterling as a partner in 2010, Zhao was a counsel at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett’s Hong Kong office.

With the addition of Zhao, Cleary’s Hong Kong office will comprise 37 lawyers, including six partners.
