Asian Legal Business is pleased to announce that The Macallan will be the official event partner for the 14th annual The Macallan ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2015.

“We are very delighted to work with and continue the relationship with ALB. We have been working with ALB even before I joined the company in 2004, and we have seen the event get bigger and bigger,” said William Chan, managing director of Edrington Hong Kong.

“Legal professionals deserve a break where they can free themselves from the daily hustle and have fun, and celebrate their achievements with their colleagues and the community.”

The Macallan ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2015 will be held on Friday Sep. 11 at the Conrad Hotel in Hong Kong, and celebrates the excellence and achievements of North Asia’s leading law firms and their lawyers, as well as in-house counsel.

King & Wood Mallesons is the frontrunner with a total of 24 nominations, followed closely by Baker & McKenzie and Linklaters, which have 19 nominations each. Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has 17 nods, while Deacons and Mayer Brown JSM have 13 and 12 nominations, respectively.

Herbert Smith Freehills has 11 nods for a number of both deal and firm award categories, including Deal Firm of the Year and Managing Partner of the Year. Sullivan & Cromwell also has 11 nominations.

Among the in-house teams, Morgan Stanley leads with 10 nominations, including the Lewis Sanders Award Investment Banking In-House Team of the Year award. Citic Capital has six nominations, including the prestigious Hong Kong Corporate Counsel Association Innovative In-House Team of the Year and Private Equity In-House Team of the Year awards.

The Macallan ALB Hong Kong Law Awards 2015 covers a total of 39 awards, and features new categories including Arbitration Law Firm of the Year and Litigation Law Firm of the Year.
